I've managed to get hold of a WowWee Robotics Robosapien RS V2 in White which must have been purchased as new before 2009. This unit is fully boxed and although the box is a little tatty, it has all the internal panels and restraints in place. This truly is an Unloved Toy that must have sat in a garage or attic somewhere for over a decade, only to be discovered and sold to me. As many of you know these robots had a serious Manufacturing fault in that the insulated wire running between the chest input/output and CPU boards to the sensors and motors in the legs was gravely inferior. Since manufacture the wire sleeving has dried up turning the brittle dust. If the V2 Robot had batteries in it when this happen it invariably died and in some cases caught fire due to the huge current for the 6 x D size batteries shorting out and in some cases exploding. What makes this one so very special is it has never had batteries in it, its wiring although most likely dried out has never short-circuited. Its also serendipitous that I happen to see it on eBay and purchase it as repaired Humanoid Robots is my speciality. There I should be able to return this rare unused Robosapien V2 to Brand New state before passing it on to a good home. So if you were ever interested in robots as a child and fixing things this Four Part series is for you or a geek you know or for a child who is handy with a screw driver. Please try not to skip through the video as there are important links to as the "i" information link in the top right hand corner. Thanks for your continued support through my fixed1t support links at the end of my videos and for being my subscribers, its much appreciated. Regards Malcolm aka @FIXED1T

This is a very rare unboxing as the production of the WowWee Robotics Robosapien RS V2 ceased in 2009
Unboxed WOWWEE Robosapien RS V2 - Part 2
This White Robosapien V2 Has Been Sat In Its Box Since It Was Purchased Over A Decade Ago At Considerable Cost. But It Was Never Opened Or Used
In This Video I Will Show The Complicated And Secure Packaging That Was Used To Keep This Humanoid Robot Safe In Transit. No Mean Feat!
In Part 3 Which I Plan To Post Later This Week, I Will Be Opening His Body Panels And Taking A Look Inside. As He Hasn't Had Batteries Inside Him and Hasn't move About Much He Should Look Immaculate. BUT At No Stage Will I Put Batteries Into Him To Test Him, To Do So Risk Fire And Destruction.

Unboxed WOWWEE Robosapien RS V2 - Part 1
This White Robosapien V2 Is Unused Having Been Its Box Since It Was Purchased Some Decades Ago The Owner said it was purchased for a small child who was scared of it as it was as big as them so it was put in storage and forgotten about for decades.
You would imagine that I'd be putting batteries in it to test it, but I won't. You see these V2 robots have a terrible secret in that due to terrible wiring being used in the torso and legs if it is powered up and moved it will short-circuit itself and die in a spectacular manner with massively overheating wiring and batteries.
So I Won't Be Putting Batteries In It Until Its Been Inspected For V2 Dangerous Wiring

After some additional work and after safely replacing multiple panels back on this Bronze WowWee Robotics Robosapien RS V2 Humanoid Robot I have him fully rewired and serviced. Here he is going through his paces.
These Robots were so far ahead of their time and rewired they should last a very long time, perhaps one will one day be owned by a true AI Robot as a Toy.
What I'm really happiest about is I have given this non-recyclable Robot a new lease of life to go on and be the play thing or collectors prised possession rather than being crushed and dumped as waste for future generations to clear away. If my videos can instil the excitement of fixing things in a new teen and pre-teen generation so they do not follow their compulsive "Buy Cheap And Throw Out" parents then I'll be happy.
Some watchers have complained my videos are slow, and explain to much, don't get straight to the point, are too long etc etc but you don't teach with snippets, exuberance doesn't make up for lack of detail, and a few minutes spent watching and learning can instil a lifetime of "I can fix this myself".
If I had one wish, it would be for people to watch my entire videos rather than quit after 1:25 secs
I was contacted by a guy who had stumbled upon my warning video on the problems with the wiring in the Robosapien V2 just as he'd put batteries into this BRONZE Robospaien V2 in another room, he rushed back into the room to find the Robot Smoking and White Hot Battery Fluild Pouring Out Of The Bottom Of The Robot. He immediately took the robot outside and with gloves removed the batteries with the smell of burning plastic and Alkaline in his nostrils. He contacted me to thank me for preventing a possible catastrophic fire.
He then purchased a fully fixed1t rewired V2 and sent me this one as a gift from Canada with the rider if I ever fix it I'd let him have first option. Wowwee Robotics RSV2 Silver Clicking Hand Gear I fixed1t
fixed1t Toy Repair ShedI purchased this Silver WowWee Robotics Robosapien RS V2 from eBay sold as "Fully Working" but as can be the case he wasn't as Fully Working as he should have been. When I switched him on he appeared to be perfect until head turned his head to the left then a loud clattering was heard and his Head an Left Arm started twitching violently as you can see at the start. But luckily for him he had come to the right place the "fixed1t Toy Repair Shed".
The video shows the before and after, he's now fully fixed1t and serviced and working great and ready for his travels to a new home.

A viewer of Part 12 of my Robosapien V2 repair series, messaged me to say they thought that the hands and head were not moving properly and were not fixed. They therefore ask for a video of the Robosapien V2 demo and the Arms and Head movements. I'm always happy to oblige when I can.
Having spent the last 5 months having a loft conversion to give me more workshop space I'm finally back to fixing robots and making videos.
This is a RED Robosapien V2 I've just finished work on and it looking and working great as I hope you can see. If you know anyone who likes robots share it with them and don't forget to subscribe to my fixed1t home repair and fixes channel.
This video is about Fixing Wowwee Robotics RSV2 Robosapien V2 Part 11 - He Gets Up
I've been further Investigating Lying Down And Sitting Up Behaviour To Identify Any Age Related Abilities Affecting His Description(Part C)
Having repaired the wiring on my latest Robosapien V2 it has come to my notice that some of the repaired White V2's have difficulties getting up off the ground. As I love science and research I thought I'd take a structured approach to the problem and see if various hypotheses were or were not correct. The
1st: they can have a problem getting up
2nd: NMH Rechargeable Batteries are too light to get them up
3rd: If I put Alkaline Batteries in him for the test he almost sits up
4th: Wiring And Sensor Interference can cause him not to sit unaided
5th: Wiring routing can affect flexibility
6th: Some of the old springs aren't as strong as they were
In order to check this I removed the Robots Pants and Jacket so the wiring to the legs could be exposed and viewed to ensure it isn't too tight. I also check the springs were working and replaced those which seemed weak.
The result is a Robosapien V2 that can SHIFT1 - D and lie down and sit up.

Fixing Wowwee Robotics RSV2 Robosapien V2 Part 7 - Fixed
In videos 1 - 6 I showed how I repair the Wowwee Robotics Robosapien V2 Humanoid Interactive robot. In this video I showed it going through test routines ready for sale on eBay.
I'm repairing a robosapien V2 leg wiring, but it appears to have become haunted and unpredictable, when I switch it on rather than doing a proper 'Self Diagnostic' it attempts to stick its ahead own its own backside. Perhaps it knows best, when I was a soldier doing Nucleur drills a Sergeant asked us to take detailed notes as our liver may depend on his next few words. "Sit on a chair, then lean forward as far as you can, and kiss your arse goodbye". We all wrote it down LOL Perhaps with North Korea about to play Nuke Roulette, the AI in this robot is getting their first and Kissing Its Arse Goodbye. ;-)
